Shells N Scales (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) is a reptile and tortoise care tracking platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information: your name and email address, used to create and secure your account.
Animal and enclosure records: the vivariums, tortoises, weight logs, maintenance tasks, feeding schedules, breeding records, notes and financial transactions you enter.
Photos and images: profile pictures and vivarium backgrounds you upload.
App settings: preferences such as theme, currency and weight units.
Usage data: anonymous analytics events that help us improve the app.

How we use your information

To provide and maintain your care tracking records and related features.
To authenticate you and keep your data private to your account.
To send service-related notifications (for example, account security).
To analyse and improve the app’s performance and usability.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely on the platform’s hosted backend. Each user’s records are isolated to their own account. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your records are not shared with third parties except where required by law, or to operate core infrastructure (for example, hosting and authentication providers) under appropriate data-processing agreements.

Your rights

Access & export: you can view all of your records within the app at any time.
Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the in-app Settings screen.
Withdrawal: you may stop using the app at any time.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
